This position is within FSU’s Department of Florida Virtual Campus (FLVC)
The Operational Performance Improvement (OPI) team is a FLVC support unit which provides services to all business units. Organizational performance improvement strategies allow the organization to optimize assets, ensure quality and process improvement, execute projects, and increase overall effectiveness and sustainability. Specifically, the OPI team provides quality assurance, testing, and business intelligence services to the organization.
Develops, maintains, and executes automated and manual test scripts to ensure complete testing of all FLVC services, applications, and products.
Plans develops, and executes functionality, performance and regression tests, and compatibility and mobility tests utilizing automated testing software where appropriate. Conducts quality reviews at pre-determined points throughout product and service life cycles; develops and maintains trend analysis of performance testing data. Assists with the identification of design requirements and conversion to functional requirements. Identification of testing points within the development process for the development of functional testing and tolerance parameters.
Ensures functional tests reflect project requirements. Develops quality assurance reports and presentations to advise FLVC workgroups and teams regarding the features and functionality of tested products. Analyzes test results using basic quality tools and techniques and translates test results into concrete, actionable recommendations for product improvement.
Designs and maintains testing environments including FLVC's virtual machine environment. Maintains and utilizes the FLVC test automation software and automated test scripts, using scripting languages, as necessary.
Performs work in support of business processes and projects. Performs time-sensitive tasks and meets established deadlines; maintains effective communications with appropriate FLVC staff; maintains effective working relationships to ensure the success of the business processes and projects.
Conducts initial quality research on new peripheral devices available for possible use with FLVC products, applications, and services. Performs other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree and two years' experience or a high school diploma or equivalent and six years of experience. (Note: or a combination of post-high school education and experience equal to six years.)
Experience with functional, performance, regression, compatibility, and mobility testing utilizing automated testing software and/or Smartbear applications such as TestComplete, LoadNinja, Reflect, and Bitbar would be preferred. An ISTQB Foundational Level certification is preferred.

Daily, this position will require the utilization of quality assurance and testing processes and procedures.
What can I expect in the first 60-90 days?
The first 60-90 days will include onboarding and training related to the FLVC organization and the software applications used by OPI as it relates to this position.
