A well-established aerospace component repair and manufacturing organization is seeking a hands-on Chief Inspector to lead site Quality and inspection activities within an FAA Part 145 repair-station environment.

This position is responsible for leading inspection personnel, protecting the independence and integrity of the inspection function, maintaining compliant return-to-service controls, and ensuring continued readiness for FAA, EASA, AS9100, ISO 9001, customer and registrar audits.

The ideal candidate combines strong repair-station knowledge with practical leadership experience and is comfortable working closely with Production, Engineering and Supply Chain while maintaining required quality and airworthiness standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead daily Quality and inspection activities, establish priorities, coach employees and maintain accountability.
• Protect the independence of the inspection function and ensure products are not released until all applicable requirements have been met.
• Ensure repair, inspection and return-to-service activities comply with FAA Part 145 requirements, applicable EASA requirements, the RSM/QCM, AS9100, ISO 9001, customer requirements and company procedures.
• Maintain effective incoming, in-process, final-inspection and product-acceptance controls.
• Oversee inspector qualifications, training, authorizations, roster information and written company approvals.
• Ensure return-to-service functions are completed only by properly qualified and authorized personnel.
• Lead nonconformance review, root-cause analysis, corrective action, effectiveness verification and repeat-defect prevention.
• Oversee document control, calibration, traceability, first-article inspection, supplier documentation and quality-record processes.
• Prepare for and host FAA, EASA, customer, AS9100/ISO and internal audits.
• Drive timely investigation, response and closure of audit findings and corrective actions.
• Partner with Production, Engineering and Supply Chain to resolve quality concerns without lowering acceptance standards.
• Monitor quality indicators such as escapes, repeat defects, first-pass yield, audit findings and corrective-action aging.
• Stop or hold product release when regulatory, technical, customer or company requirements have not been satisfied.
• Represent the organization professionally when working with customers, regulators, auditors and other external parties.

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least five years of progressive experience in aircraft-component inspection, FAA repair-station quality, avionics, electronics manufacturing or a related aerospace environment.
• Demonstrated lead, supervisory or inspection-team leadership experience.
• Strong working knowledge of FAA Part 145 inspection, quality-control and return-to-service requirements.
• Experience interpreting technical data, drawings, specifications, work instructions and regulatory requirements.
• Experience supporting or leading audits, nonconformance review, root-cause analysis and corrective action.
• Strong judgment, integrity and willingness to stop a release when requirements have not been met.
• Strong communication, organization, documentation and problem-solving skills.
• Experience using a quality-management or ERP system.
• Ability to obtain the certification and written company authorization required for assigned return-to-service responsibilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience as a Chief Inspector, Lead Inspector, Quality Supervisor or repair-station quality leader.
• Current FAA mechanic or repairman certificate appropriate to the assigned work.
• Experience with FAA Form 8130-3, dual release, FAA, EASA or customer audits.
• Experience with AS9100, ISO 9001 or AS9102 first-article requirements.
• Experience involving avionics, wiring, electronic assemblies, aerospace components or component refurbishment.
• IPC, ASQ, lead-auditor, Six Sigma or related quality training or certification.
