Position Summary
The Production and Raw Material Planner prepares the operational schedule and orders materials to satisfy customer demand.
Primary Responsibilities
- Plans and establishes production schedule to meet customer demands, sales forecasts and customer delivery requirements.
- Monitors and tracks materials flow to identify bottlenecks and characterize usage.
- Provides necessary information and support to the Operations Manager, Purchasing, Inventory Control, and Accounting departments.
- Primary contact for various material vendors regarding caps, masterbatch, corrugate, resin, PCR, pallets, drums, totes, etc., to ensure there is coordination of key services and management provided to Freehold.
- Estimates production time for each order giving consideration to the availability of machines, material and tooling, number of operations involved, manufacturing backlog, order quantity, complexity of product (i.e. assemblies), previous history, outside operations, etc.
- Examines the status of each order by reviewing work-in-process, open orders, material status, over-dues, etc. and checks with schedulers and expediters.
- Develop schedule to minimize overtime and change overs to maximize efficiency.
- Maintains long-range strategy keeping customer service and purchasing in mind.
- Responsible for conducting daily cycle counts and complete cycle count process to ensure inventory (Raw Materials) accuracy within the established standards.
- Responsible for kitting labels and other raw materials for upcoming production orders.
- Collaborate and create work orders for all finished goods and blending planned on the Production Schedule.
- Review and order raw materials related to production.
- Attend and participate in PMO projects related to Freehold.
- Other duties as assigned.
Safety Responsibilities

- Following all company safety policies and procedures.
- Immediately reporting unsafe conditions, injuries, near misses, spills, or equipment concerns.
- Using required PPE properly.
- Participating in safety training and meetings.
- Stopping work or escalating concerns when an unsafe condition exists.
Required Qualifications
The successful candidate must have:
- Bachelor’s degree in procurement/supply chain management or equivalent.
- 2 or more years of experience in a manufacturing facility with production scheduling and materials planning.
- Knowledge of raw materials and production processes.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication skills, well organized and a team player.
- Detail oriented and accurate, able to multitask and prioritize workload.
- Ability to work independently and to interact effectively with all levels of the organization.
- Experience with integrated/computerized manufacturing systems. Power BI, JDE experience preferred.
- Proficient with Microsoft applications – strong understanding of excel
- Detail oriented with demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple priorities, complexity and work within a fast paced, dynamic environment.
- Fork Truck Certification

Pay Range and Benefits
$25-$38 per hour depending on experience.
Benefits effective 1st of month following 30 days of employment, 401k eligible after 90 days.
