The Role
We're looking for someone earlier in their career (roughly 1–3 years of relevant experience) who wants to grow into a role that blends project coordination, testing, and light technical work. Someone who's comfortable in a fast-paced, ever-evolving environment, enjoys working with people, and isn't afraid to dig into the details of a deliverable to make sure it's right before it reaches the client.
This role coordinates client-facing software projects for our client base: tracking scope, schedule, and communication between our development team and the client, while also owning testing coordination on deliverables and pitching in on light technical tasks like monitoring batch jobs and doing initial recon on bug reports. Real estate tech experience is a plus but not required; we'll train the domain knowledge. What we can't train is a genuine interest in solving problems and learning new things.
This starts as a part-time role (20–30 hours/week) with a flexible schedule, built around a core commitment to attend key client and team meetings. There's a real path to full-time for the right person, as workload and fit allow.
What You'll Do
- Coordinate day-to-day delivery of client software projects - tracking scope, timelines, and open items across multiple engagements.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for clients: professional, courteous, and clear, even when the internal conversation is more laid-back.
- Coordinate between developers and clients to keep requirements clear and expectations aligned on both sides.
- Get hands-on with deliverables (mostly reports, dashboards, and Excel models) well enough to understand what they should do and help test them before they go to the customer.
- Help write test plans for deliverables (with support from internal tools, including Claude and ChatGPT) and coordinate testing through to sign-off.
- Monitor and run scheduled batch jobs, catching and escalating failures before they become client-facing issues.
- Do first-pass recon on reported bugs. Reproduce the issue, check logs, and gather enough context that developers can move straight to a fix.
- Flag risks, blockers, and scope questions early, and help keep projects moving without waiting to be asked.
What We're Looking For
- Someone with 1–3 years of relevant experience: project coordination, project management, business analysis, QA, or a related field.
- A US citizen and able to work from anywhere in the US.
- A person who has clear, professional written and verbal communication in English. You'll be the voice clients hear most!
- Somone who is comfortable managing multiple moving pieces without losing track of the details.
But not just a Project Coordinator
- We are looking for someone who is willing to roll up their sleeves and get involved at a more technical level. A person comfortable following runbooks or scripted processes (e.g., running and checking batch jobs) and troubleshooting straightforward issues.
- Someone who genuinely enjoys working with people and solving problems.
- A person that is both curious and coachable.
- Somebody that is excited to learn new tools, workflows, and a new industry rather than intimidated by them.
- Someone who can find a fun balance between a laid-back internal working style and a polished, professional front to clients.
Nice to Haves
- Experience in or exposure to real estate or real estate technology.
- Working knowledge of SQL.
- Experience with software testing or QA, including writing test cases or test plans.
- Familiarity with Excel-based models, dashboards, or reporting tools.
Compensation & Benefits
- Pay: $30–$40/hr, based on experience.
- Schedule: Part-time, 20–30 hrs./week to start, with flexibility around when you work and a defined commitment to core team/client meetings. Potential to move to full-time.
- Location: Fully remote, anywhere in the US.
- Paid time off.
- Available retirement options including 401(k) employer-matching options.
- A competitive referral program. You can earn a percentage of gross sales on any company you bring in that becomes a client.
About AppTech Consulting
AppTech Consulting isn't your typical software development shop. We're a full-stack development company that solves the problems our clients throw at us: data warehouses for large scale real estate investment companies, automations for courtroom software vendors, dashboards for police departments, complex integrations between disparate systems, and yes, the occasional really great Excel macro. We've built our reputation on finishing what we start.
We keep teams small and direct. Clients get a real person with a real name assigned to their project, not a ticket queue. We hire talented, passionate, professional people and give them the room to own their work.
Our work environment is fast paced with the right amount of flexibility. We offer innovative work incentives and the opportunity to grow your career while finding the right balance for your personal life. We have a 100% judgment free workplace. We hope you will consider joining this excellent team.
