Join the Recovery Department of a well-established automotive finance company where you'll play a key role in protecting company assets and managing the recovery process from repossession through final disposition.

Michael Wayne Investments is seeking an Asset Recovery & Loss Mitigation Specialist to join our Recovery Department in Norfolk, Virginia.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, exercises sound judgment, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and can successfully manage multiple priorities while working independently.

Primary Responsibilities

• Assign repossession referrals and coordinate with recovery agents.
• Perform skip tracing and collateral research.
• Manage Recovery on Hand (ROH) inventory from repossession through final disposition.
• Process customer redemptions and voluntary collateral surrenders.
• Coordinate with attorneys, impound facilities, auctions, insurance companies, law enforcement agencies, and third-party vendors.
• Coordinate vehicle transportation to auction facilities.
• Manage the auction disposition process, including reviewing condition reports, evaluating offers, and maximizing recovery on vehicle sales.
• Process vehicle titles, lien releases, DMV paperwork, and ownership-related issues.
• Maintain accurate account documentation and Microsoft Excel tracking spreadsheets.
• Monitor bankruptcy accounts, impounds, deceased borrowers, and other special recovery situations.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in automotive finance, banking, collections, repossessions, title processing, insurance, dealerships, or related financial services preferred.
• Working knowledge of repossession laws, redemption requirements, or recovery procedures is a plus.
• Knowledge of vehicle titles, lien processing, DMV procedures, and vehicle auctions is preferred.
• Strong Microsoft Excel, organizational, and computer skills.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while working independently and meeting deadlines.
• Willingness to learn and develop within the recovery and asset management field.

Schedule

• Monday through Friday
• 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
• Work Location: Norfolk, VA 23502 (In person)
