Duties

• Lead the design and development of RF circuits, including amplifiers, filters, antennas, and transceivers, utilizing advanced simulation tools such as MATLAB, Simulink, and SystemVerilog.
• Conduct thorough root cause analysis on RF system issues, troubleshooting hardware and software components to identify and resolve performance bottlenecks.
• Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to integrate RF modules with digital systems such as FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Arrays), SoC (System on Chip), and embedded firmware using programming languages like C++, Python, Perl, and scripting for automation.
• Develop detailed electrical schematics and PCB layouts using CAD software such as AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, or SolidWorks while adhering to electrical building codes (NEC) and NFPA 70 compliance standards.
• Perform rigorous engineering testing of RF components and systems to verify specifications, including signal processing validation, system development verification, and debugging.
• Manage project schedules by planning milestones for circuit design, PCB manufacturing, system integration, and testing phases to ensure timely delivery.
• Support manufacturing processes through PCB design review, surface mount technology (SMT) assembly oversight, soldering quality assurance, and surface mount component placement.
• Utilize simulation tools to model control systems and electrical systems for industrial automation applications involving programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and control system design.
• Engage in continuous improvement initiatives by analyzing system performance data to optimize RF hardware configurations and firmware updates.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation including schematics, technical reports, test procedures, and troubleshooting guides.

Skills

• Extensive experience with RF circuit design including amplifiers, filters, antennas, and transceivers; proficiency with simulation tools like MATLAB/Simulink is essential.
• Strong background in FPGA development and programming with SystemVerilog; familiarity with SoC integration is highly desirable.
• Expertise in PCB design using CAD software such as AutoCAD or SolidWorks; knowledge of surface mount technology (SMT) assembly processes.
• Proficiency in electrical schematic design aligned with NEC standards; experience with electrical system design for industrial or manufacturing environments.
• Skilled in root cause analysis for complex RF hardware/software issues; adept at debugging using tools like ohmmeters and vision inspection systems.
• Knowledge of signal processing techniques relevant to communications systems engineering; experience with firmware development in C++, Python or Perl for automation tasks.
• Familiarity with industrial automation protocols including programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and control systems engineering principles.
• Mechanical knowledge related to mechanical engineering principles that influence RF hardware enclosures or antenna positioning systems.
• Ability to interpret mechanical drawings using Revit or MicroStation; understanding of mechanical engineering concepts beneficial for integrated system design.
• Strong understanding of electrical building codes (NFPA 70) and safety standards applicable to electronics manufacturing environments.
