Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Construction Estimator Commercial to join our team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for accurately estimating costs for commercial construction projects, ensuring competitive pricing while maintaining quality standards. Your expertise will drive project profitability by managing budgets, analyzing blueprints, and collaborating closely with clients, subcontractors, and project teams. Responsibilities

• Review and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications to determine project scope and requirements.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates for materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor services using estimating software such as Planswift.
• Develop comprehensive project budgets by estimating material requirements from blueprints and calculating associated costs.
• Negotiate with suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors to secure competitive pricing and favorable contract terms.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously by tracking costs, updating estimates, and ensuring alignment with project timelines and budgets.
• Utilize construction management software to monitor project progress, control costs, and update estimates as needed throughout the project lifecycle.
• Collaborate with clients and internal teams to communicate estimates clearly, explain assumptions, and address any scope changes or adjustments.
• Review construction contracts to ensure accurate cost representation and compliance with project specifications.
• Conduct site visits when necessary to gather on-the-ground information that influences accurate estimation.
• Maintain detailed records of all estimating activities for future reference and audit purposes.

Requirements

• Proven experience managing projects as a construction estimator within the commercial construction industry. Preferably having expertise in commercial drywall, metal stud framing and acoustical ceilings.
• Strong proficiency in estimating software such as Planswift and Bluebeam.
• Extensive knowledge of construction management software platforms and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
• Ability to read and interpret complex construction drawings, blueprints, technical specifications, and contracts.
• Skilled in negotiation with vendors, subcontractors, and clients to achieve cost-effective solutions.
• Expertise in cost management practices including material cost estimating, cost control strategies, and budgeting for large-scale projects.
• Demonstrated experience in estimating material requirements from blueprints and reviewing construction drawings accurately.
• Excellent communication skills for client interaction and team collaboration across multiple stakeholders.
• Construction site experience is highly desirable for better understanding of on-the-ground realities affecting estimates.
• Strong background in construction management principles including project management methodologies and contract administration.

Pay: $85,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
