As XpertDox expands across large healthcare organizations and into payer markets, we are seeking a nationally recognized coding and compliance authority to join our executive leadership team as the public face of compliant autonomous medical coding.

The Opportunity

The Chief Medical Coding and Compliance Officer will serve as XpertDox's senior authority on medical coding, reimbursement, and coding compliance, and as the company's national spokesperson and representative to clients, payers, regulators, and the broader coding and compliance community.

This is an executive, client-facing, and industry-facing role designed for an established national leader whose reputation and presence strengthen XpertDox's credibility with healthcare providers, health plans, compliance organizations, and professional associations. The successful candidate will advise clients on complex coding matters, represent XpertDox at national conferences, personally stand behind the company's coding governance and audit results, and serve as a credible senior counterpart to payer compliance, payment integrity, and medical policy leaders.

The position reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer, with no intervening layers. The Coding Excellence Team and the Audit Team report to this role, and the position collaborates closely with product, engineering, client success, and marketing leadership in the United States and India.

Key ResponsibilitiesCoding and Compliance Leadership

• Serve as XpertDox's senior authority on medical coding, risk adjustment, clinical documentation improvement, and payer-specific coding requirements.
• Interpret CMS, NCCI, AMA, Medicare Administrative Contractor, and commercial payer guidance.
• Provide executive oversight of coding accuracy, compliance, validation, and audit readiness, with direct leadership of the Coding Excellence Team and the Audit Team.
• Author and personally stand behind XpertDox's coding governance framework and compliance methodology.
• Participate in the governance and release review of autonomous coding workflows.

Client and Prospect Engagement

• Serve as the senior coding and compliance authority in meetings with enterprise clients and payer representatives.
• Explain and defend XpertDox's coding methodologies, governance standards, and audit results, including direct participation in client and payer audit discussions.

Speaking and Thought Leadership

• Represent XpertDox at national healthcare, coding, compliance, reimbursement, and payer conferences.
• Deliver keynote presentations, panel discussions, webinars, and educational sessions.
• Publish commentary and educational materials on medical coding, reimbursement policy, compliance, and autonomous coding under your own name.
• Build relationships with national coding, compliance, payer, and healthcare leadership organizations.

Marketing and Industry Credibility

• Strengthen the credibility of XpertDox's sales, marketing, and client success efforts.
• Contribute to white papers, policy publications, webinars, research, case studies, and market-facing educational materials.
• Work with marketing leadership to ensure that coding and compliance claims are accurate, supportable, and appropriately presented.

Payer Engagement

• Serve as XpertDox's credible senior counterpart to payer compliance, payment integrity, coding validation, and medical policy leaders.
• Help payer audiences understand and gain confidence in autonomous coding, including use cases such as coding validation, payment integrity, prepayment review, risk adjustment, provider education, and claims operations.
• Support the company's expansion into payer-side automation as those relationships mature.

Preferred Background

The strongest candidates will combine national coding authority, senior healthcare leadership, and public visibility. Preferred qualifications include:

• Fifteen or more years of experience in medical coding, coding compliance, reimbursement, payment integrity, clinical documentation, or related healthcare functions.
• Prior executive or national leadership experience with CMS, a major health plan, a Medicare Administrative Contractor, AAPC, or AHIMA.
• Demonstrated expertise in professional medical coding and reimbursement policy.
• Deep knowledge of CMS, AMA, NCCI, Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payer requirements.
• Experience working with payer payment integrity, coding validation, reimbursement, medical policy, claims, or risk adjustment functions.
• Established relationships across payers, healthcare organizations, coding associations, or regulatory bodies.
• A recognized national profile through speaking, publishing, policy development, committee participation, or industry leadership.
• Experience advising senior executives, compliance officers, physicians, auditors, and legal teams.
• Relevant credentials may include CPC, CCS, CCS-P, CPMA, CRC, COC, CIC, RHIA, RHIT, or comparable credentials. Advanced training in clinical medicine, law, compliance, healthcare administration, or a related field is valued but not required.

Compensation and Benefits

XpertDox expects the base salary for this position to range from $200,000 to $300,000, depending on the candidate's experience, national reputation, and demonstrated ability to advance the company's strategic objectives. The compensation package includes:

• Competitive executive base salary.
