Responsibilities
Develop advanced hydrologic and hydraulic models for stormwater and flood control projects.
Design and evaluate flood conveyance systems, detention facilities, and drainage infrastructure.
Lead projects from initiation to completion, ensuring timely delivery and budget compliance.
Prepare technical reports, proposals, project updates, and invoices.
Build strong client relationships and support business development.
Coach and mentor junior engineers to support their professional growth.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across multiple office locations.
Provide advanced modeling solutions and analysis for both public and private sector projects.
Conduct 1D/2D watershed hydrologic analysis for master planning and flood control designs.
Organize, write, and edit proposals, reports, and documentation.
Identify and pursue new clients and business opportunities.
Oversee and manage junior staff on project assignments.
Coordinate with teams across different locations and disciplines as needed.
Maintain professional communication with clients, contractors, staff, and supervisors.
Contribute to internal and external technical presentations and publications.
Perform additional duties as requested.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering; Master’s preferred.
Texas Professional Engineer (PE) license (required).
Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM) credential.
At least 6 years of civil/site design experience focused on water resources.
Expertise in stormwater management, drainage design, H&H modeling, and SWPPP.
Proficient with HEC-HMS, ARC-MAP, SWMM, HEC-RAS, and ArcGIS.
Strong communication skills for effective client and team interactions.
Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D; OpenRoads experience a plus.
Demonstrated leadership, mentoring, and teamwork abilities.
Knowledge of local land use regulations and permitting.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for fieldwork and meetings.
