Heat Trace Products, LLC (HTP) is one of a limited number of companies that manufactures and sells self-regulating heating cable. HTP has a worldwide loyal customer base.
Heat Trace Products, LLC is looking for an individual with a high school diploma or its equivalent. Able to lift at least 50 pounds. Able to read, write, and follow written instructions in English. Able to speak English well and comprehend others well who are speaking fluently in English. Well-organized, honest, attentive to details, and a history of showing initiative. Must be willing and able to do hands-on work, and a good mechanical aptitude is preferred. Previous hands-on job experience or having a hands-on or technical type hobby is desirable. Will be working with 1 or more operators, so must be a team-player and able to work with others without conflict. Basic knowledge and experience using a computer is a must.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Set up and operate multiple extrusion processes and necessary equipment safely and efficiently
- Work from written and oral instructions from Senior Process Engineer, work orders, and manufacturing instructions
- Conduct pre-shift setup which includes turning On equipment, selection of appropriate tooling (tip, die, etc.), setting of extrusion and equipment parameters (temperatures, speeds), and preparation of materials
- Conduct post shift shutdown activities which include turning-off / disabling all equipment and returning materials and tools back to their designated locations/areas.
- Take measurements / perform quality inspections of materials and products as instructed
- Complete all required paperwork such as log sheets, labor sheets, work order tags and quality records as directed
- Enter all required data and information into computer as instructed
- Attend to the specific machine and production demands set by the Senior Process Engineer
- Communicate openly and consistently with Senior Process Engineer and coworkers about work-related items including machine and process-related issues, safety hazards, and quality concerns
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness standards of work area(s) and equipment established by Senior Process Engineer
- Take good care of equipment and gauges/tools
- Aid Senior Process Engineer in the creation of procedures and training materials for manufacturing processes
- Assist and/or carry-out experiments and testing assigned by Senior Process Engineer
- Works with Senior Process Engineer to implement improvements
- Is timely and attentive to their work.
- Actively works towards mastery over an Extrusion Process.
- Works toward zero scrap, zero defects, zero downtime, etc.
- Assist in annual physical inventory and monthly cycle counts.
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Expectations: The individual should have a close / cohesive working relationship with the Senior Process Engineer, and should be able to work with other operators without conflict. Ideas, suggestions, and recommendations for any improvements must be shared with the Senior Process Engineer for approval before any actions are taken. Major items are to be cleared by the General Manager.
