Senior Account Supervisor

Six One is seeking a Temporary Senior Account Supervisor to support our growing roster of beauty, wellness, and lifestyle clients.

This is a senior contract role for someone with strong agency or in-house communications experience, established beauty media relationships, and the ability to lead accounts with confidence. The right person is strategic and hands-on, able to guide client communication, manage junior team members, develop smart media angles, and keep work moving across multiple accounts.

About the Role

The Senior Account Supervisor will serve as a senior lead across select beauty, wellness, and lifestyle accounts. This person will help drive strategy, media relations, client communications, team workflows, and day-to-day account management.

Responsibilities

Client Strategy + Account Leadership

• Lead day-to-day strategy and execution across beauty, wellness, and lifestyle accounts
• Serve as a senior client contact, managing communications, expectations, approvals, and next steps
• Develop PR plans, launch strategies, media angles, and campaign recommendations
• Identify proactive opportunities tied to trends, product launches, founder stories, events, awards, and cultural moments

Media Relations + Storytelling

• Develop compelling pitches, press materials, media angles, and brand messaging
• Leverage media relationships across beauty, wellness, lifestyle, business, commerce, multicultural, and consumer media
• Guide junior team members on pitching strategy, follow-ups, media list development, and relationship building

Team Management + Internal Leadership

• Manage and mentor junior team members, helping them prioritize, problem-solve, and grow
• Assign work clearly and ensure deadlines, details, and deliverables are being met
• Review drafts, pitches, recaps, reports, and client-facing materials before they go out
• Communicate clearly with leadership on account status, blockers, wins, and client needs

Client Materials + Reporting

• Oversee and support press releases, media alerts, pitch copy, messaging documents, recaps, reports, and client presentations
• Help develop strategic recommendations, campaign summaries, and meeting materials
• Ensure client-facing work is polished, accurate, and aligned with brand voice

Must-Have Qualifications

• 9+ years of PR, communications, or brand marketing experience, with beauty/wellness experience required
• Proven media relationships across beauty, wellness, lifestyle, commerce, and/or consumer media
• Experience leading client strategy and managing day-to-day account communications
• Experience managing or mentoring junior team members
• Strong writing, editing, pitching, and client communication skills
• Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple accounts, deadlines, and priorities
• Strong judgment, accountability, and ability to move work forward independently
• Deep understanding of what makes a story timely, relevant, and press-worthy
• Strong knowledge of beauty and wellness trends, media, founders, creators, and brands
• Must be located within commutable distance to the Los Angeles metropolitan area - 3 days in office

Nice-to-Have

• Experience with product launches, founder positioning, events, affiliate/commerce PR, influencer marketing, or multicultural media
• Existing relationships with editors, freelance writers, and commerce editors
• Experience working with emerging, founder-led, multicultural, or mission-driven brands

• Hybrid or in-person structure to be discussed
• Start date: immediate or as soon as possible
• Compensation: DOE annualized, or equivalent contract rate, depending on experience
