Position Overview:
Our client is seeking a Senior Specialist, Application Development to join their technology organization in New York City. This Senior Specialist, Application Development will develop enterprise applications, modernize business processes, integrate systems, and deliver AI-enabled solutions that improve operational efficiency and reporting capabilities. The ideal Senior Specialist, Application Development is an experienced full-stack application developer with strong Python, SQL, API integration, AI agent development, and enterprise systems experience. This position offers the opportunity to work on innovative initiatives while partnering with business and technology teams to build scalable, high-impact solutions. The schedule is from Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM (Friday night deployments are required).
Responsibilities of the Senior Specialist, Application Development:
- Design, develop, and support enterprise applications aligned with business objectives.
- Analyze business requirements and create scalable technical solutions.
- Improve and automate end-to-end business workflows and digital processes.
- Integrate applications with internal systems, REST APIs, and JIRA.
- Develop reporting solutions by integrating client data from multiple sources.
- Build, enhance, and support AI agents and intelligent automation capabilities.
- Monitor and optimize AI agent performance using Splunk.
- Develop database-driven applications using Python, SQL, Oracle, Snowflake, and ETL processes.
- Build API integrations and workflow automation solutions.
- Participate in project planning, technical recommendations, and solution design.
- Provide production support, troubleshoot application issues, and assist with cyber-related workflows.
- Participate in scheduled Friday evening production deployments.
- Collaborate with cross-functional business and technology stakeholders throughout the software development lifecycle.
Required Experience/Skills for the Senior Specialist, Application Development:
- 5+ years of enterprise application development experience.
- Strong experience developing modern enterprise software solutions.
- Advanced SQL and database development experience with Oracle, Snowflake, SQL Server, or similar platforms.
- Strong Python programming experience.
- Experience with REST APIs, API integrations, ETL processes, and workflow automation.
- Hands-on experience with Python, Oracle SQL, GitLab, Splunk, App Engine, and APIs.
- Experience developing full-stack or database-driven applications.
- Hands-on AI agent development experience.
- Experience tuning AI agent performance using Splunk.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Experience/Skills for the Senior Specialist, Application Development:
- Experience integrating data across multiple enterprise platforms.
- Production application support experience.
- Agile and DevOps methodologies.
- AI-enabled analytics and intelligent automation platforms.
- Machine learning fundamentals.
- Generative AI frameworks and tools.
- CI/CD pipelines and GitHub Actions.
- Financial Services or Securities industry experience.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
- Equivalent combination of education and professional experience will also be considered.
