EMC Insights seeks a full-time, salaried mid- to senior-level Clean Energy Engineer to join our growing team. We are looking for a technically skilled, self-motivated individual who shares our passion for energy efficiency. The successful candidate will be located in New Jersey or in a neighboring state. In this position, you will be a key member of our consulting team supporting the implementation of commercial and industrial (C&I) energy efficiency programs. These programs are technically challenging, require critical thinking, include some on-site work, and involve energy consumption and efficiency calculations.

In this role, you will also be a key technical and field resource, including overseeing engineering staff’s work for our energy efficiency program implementation contracts with utilities to assess the impact of energy efficiency programs, conduct on-site visits at C&I facilities, and work with various stakeholders, including contractors and end-use customers, to review energy savings estimates for large and sometimes complex energy efficiency projects. You will help expand our services to provide a range of measurement and verification (M&V) support to stakeholders. EMC Insights is dedicated to the quality of our work and our client relationships. Ideal Locations:

· Ideally located in New Jersey, but could be located in a neighboring state (Pennsylvania, New York, or Delaware)

· This is a remote (work-from-home) position with occasional travel to customer sites in New Jersey

What You Bring with You/Qualifications:

· Lead and mentor program implementation engineering staff

· Strong written and oral presentation skills, as well as client interface capabilities

· Coordinate with end-use customers and contractors to help support their participation in utility-sponsored C&I energy efficiency incentive programs

· Conduct inspections to verify the installation and operation of baseline and replacement energy-efficient equipment

· Provide technical and non-technical support to utility customers and trade allies

· Produce high-quality engineering deliverables (spreadsheets, calculators, memos)

· Establish and maintain a professional customer rapport, including identifying and anticipating customer needs and proposing solutions

· Promptly and accurately address contractor and customer concerns to assure problem resolution and promote long-term productive relationships

· Understand the organization and decision-making process to work with contractors and customers in determining project eligibility, schedule, and potential energy savings

· Perform and review energy savings calculation estimates

· Efficiently manage multiple projects, provide timely updates, and ensure contractors and customers are updated with project/ program information

· Communicate efficiently with contractors, customers, and the utility clients to meet program requirements -- both in person and virtually

· Maintain quality control of all deliverable products, demonstrating objectivity and clarity while maintaining project schedules

· Must have a valid driver's license and access to a vehicle

Preferred:

· Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in mechanical, civil, or electrical engineering or related disciplines

· 7 or more years of experience working in the HVAC&R, and Building Energy Engineering with Demand Side Management (DSM) consultancies, Energy Service Companies (ESCO), Design-Build firms, or Energy Auditing firms

· Experience with whole-building energy modeling, energy use billing analysis, energy savings calculation algorithms, and installing energy use metering equipment

· Experience with reviewing Retrocommissioning and Monitoring-Based Commissioning program calculations and reports, including evaluating BAS trend data and sequences of operations

· CEM, CMVP, and/or CBCP certification

· Affiliations with ASHRAE, IEEE, and other relevant industry organizations

· Experience/expertise with data analytics in Excel is required; advanced expertise with macros, VBA, or other data analytics platforms such as Python or R

Pay: $100,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
