Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and talented Civil Litigation Attorney to join our growing practice. In this role, you will manage an independent caseload while collaborating with senior partners on complex civil disputes. The ideal candidate will possess sharp analytical abilities, exceptional courtroom presence, and a strong knowledge of personal injury law to effectively navigate insurance defense and liability claims.

Key Responsibilities

• Case Management: Lead all phases of civil litigation from initial case evaluation, strategy development, and pleadings through to final resolution or trial.
• Depositions & Discovery: Conduct and defend depositions of parties, fact witnesses, and expert medical or technical witnesses; and manage complex written discovery.
• Motions & Briefs: Draft persuasive pleadings, discovery motions, motions for summary judgment, and appellate briefs.
• Courtroom Advocacy: Argue motions and represent clients in state and federal court hearings, arbitrations, and jury trials throughout Minnesota.
• Mediation & Negotiation: Represent client interests effectively during alternative dispute resolution (ADR), settlement conferences, and direct negotiations.
• Client Relations: Maintain regular, clear communication with clients, claims adjusters, and corporate representatives to provide risk assessments and case updates.

Qualifications

• Licensure: Juris Doctor (JD) degree and an active member in good standing with the State Bar of Minnesota (or eligible for immediate admission). An active member in good standing (or eligible for admission) to the State Bar of Wisconsin, is a plus, but not required.
• Experience: 2–5 years of civil litigation experience, with a proven track record handling insurance defense or general civil liability matters.
• Legal Expertise: A strong knowledge of personal injury law, medical terminology, and tort principles is essential.
• Skills: Exceptional writing, analytical research, and oral advocacy skills.
• Tech Savviness: Proficiency with Microsoft Office, legal research platforms (Westlaw), and general understanding of electronic filing systems (MNCIS/eFile Minnesota and PACER).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
