Specialty Sewer

Our Specialty Sewers operates industrial sewing machines to layout and sew vinyl and various industrial fabrics, perform new and prototype sewing operations, custom items, and specials.

What can you expect to do?

• Select proper parts for production operations. Check parts against work order to ensure proper type, color, and number of parts.
• Layout parts consistent with guide marks and attach parts together with logo, pleats, pockets, wear faces, drop curtains, windows, Velcro, foam, and guide strips.
• Change threads and bobbins and adjust machine tension to produce proper stitching.
• Operate grommet machine to insert grommet into materials.
• Perform sewing machine maintenance, such as oiling and replacing needles.
• Work on new or prototype sewing operations. Suggest production process improvements or new production methods to enhance production efficiency and quality.

What is needed for success?

• Ability to read and understand written sewing instructions.
• Function as a team member and contribute to group goals.
• Operate sewing machine, grommet machine, and use a variety of hand tools such as tin snips, glue gun, vice grips, and utility knife.
• Good attention to detail.

Pay: $19.50 - $23.50 per hour
