Dairyfood USA, one of the largest specialty cheesemakers in North America, is currently hiring a Maintenance Planner, at our production facility located in the heart of America’s Dairyland, Blue Mounds, WI.

Job Purpose:

The Maintenance Planner is responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordinating preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities within the plant. This role ensures equipment reliability, minimizes downtime, supports food safety and quality standards, and optimizes maintenance resources to maximize plant productivity.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain preventive maintenance (PM) schedules for production, packaging, refrigeration, utilities, and support equipment.
• Plan and coordinate maintenance work orders through the plant's computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
• Review maintenance requests, define job scopes, estimate labor requirements, and identify necessary parts and materials.
• Coordinate maintenance activities with production, sanitation, quality assurance, and warehouse departments to minimize operational disruptions.
• Maintain equipment histories, maintenance records, and asset documentation.
• Manage spare parts inventory and work closely with purchasing to ensure critical components are available.
• Support predictive maintenance programs, including vibration analysis, thermography, lubrication, and condition monitoring activities.
• Track maintenance performance metrics such as downtime, PM compliance, work order completion, and equipment reliability.
• Participate in root cause failure analysis (RCFA) and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure maintenance activities comply with food safety regulations, GMPs, HACCP requirements, and company safety policies.
• Assist in planning plant shutdowns, equipment overhauls, and capital improvement projects.
• Work with contractors and vendors to coordinate external maintenance services.

Required Qualifications:

• Associate's degree or technical certification in Industrial Maintenance, Mechanical Technology, Engineering Technology, or related field preferred.
• 3–5 years of maintenance planning, maintenance supervision, or industrial maintenance experience in a food, dairy, or manufacturing environment.
• Experience with CMMS software.
• Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, refrigeration, and process systems.
• Understanding of dairy processing equipment such as cooker, blenders, grinders, conveyors, fillers, packaging machines, boilers, and refrigeration systems.
• Familiarity with food manufacturing regulations, GMPs, HACCP, and OSHA requirements.
• Strong organizational, communication, and project management skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in dairy or cheese manufacturing.
• Knowledge of reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) principles.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced production environment.
• Experience with maintenance budgeting and KPI reporting.
