How We Work

We’re a high-trust team of experienced Rails engineers who’ve been working in the framework since its early days. You’ll work directly with them, learning how we build and ship software.

We work prompt-first. We use AI tools to prototype faster, generate tests, and increase velocity. But everything goes through human review—we don’t ship code we haven’t read and understood. You’ll learn how to use these tools effectively while building real features that customers use every day.

You’ll work across the stack—Ruby on Rails, React, databases, whatever the feature needs. You don’t need to be an expert in everything yet, but you should be comfortable learning and contributing across both backend and frontend.

A typical day might include building an enhancement that saves customers hours per week, improving user experience, pairing with other engineers to solve problems, or helping debug and fix issues in production.

What You’ll Do

Build core backend functionality in Ruby on Rails and relational databases
Work daily in Claude Code and ship features using LLMs and agentic workflows
Build React components in TypeScript for customer-facing features
Collaborate and pair program with experienced full-stack engineers
Help with problem-solving and issue resolution, working on bug fixes and improvements
Learn and contribute to our AI-powered features and workflows

What We’re Looking For

B.S. in Computer Science or a similar technical field
2+ years of professional experience as a software engineer
Excellent written communication skills
Experience building web applications with a modern language like Ruby, Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, or Go
Experience or strong interest in AI/LLM technologies and prompt-first development workflows
Strong desire to learn Ruby and Rails (experience is a plus, but not required)
Experience with relational databases and Git is a plus
Appreciation for UX and usability—you care what the end user experiences
Appreciation for clear, maintainable, tested code
Ability to communicate clearly and positively
