A NAVAIR Program Office (P-8A Poseidon) is seeking a highly specialized, dedicated Lead Data Solutions & AI Engineer to lead and manage a team of engineers and serve as the senior technical anchor for the Production team as a 'unicorn' problem-solver. This position will operate with high autonomy to modernize, automate, and streamline production execution across the program. Immediate focus will be to untangle complex, disparate data streams and build scalable, user-friendly tools that directly improve ability to deliver the P-8A Poseidon. You must have a bias toward solving problems quickly and iterating, rather than architecting the perfect solution before taking action.

What You'll Do

• Lead and manage a team of engineers, providing technical direction, mentorship, and day-to-day oversight
• Ingest, clean, and architect a usable database from currently disorganized production data streams
• Design and deploy a reliable database and tracking system for Government Furnished Property (GFP) and Government Furnished Information (GFI)
• Serve as the primary technical authority to evaluate current data environment and select the most effective technology stack (databases, scripting, visualization) for the unique needs
• Design, build, and maintain custom software tools and dashboards that automate manual processes and provide real-time analytics to the production management team
• Use existing, ATO-approved DoD enterprise environments (e.g., Microsoft Power Platform / Power Apps, PowerBI, existing datalakes) to rapidly deploy solutions without triggering new cyber/ATO compliance cycles
• Identify opportunities to apply or leverage machine learning or advanced analytics
• Act as a standalone individual contributor who can seamlessly translate non-technical requirements from the Production Lead into technical solutions
• Collaborate with external vendors or stakeholders when necessary to acquire data

Required Qualifications

• Thrive in ambiguous environments; does not need a perfectly manicured dataset; can successfully build the pipes to create one
• Strong proficiency in modern Artificial Intelligence, data engineering and software development (e.g., JavaScript, data visualization tools, vibe coding)
• Demonstrated ability to use AI to build rapid solutions and a strong portfolio of solving complex data architecture problems from scratch
• Must be able to obtain DoD Secret clearance; desire for active clearance

Highly Desired Experience

• Experience with Microsoft Power Platform, Power Apps, PowerBI, or DoD datalake environments
• Experience with Navy aviation production or sustainment programs
• Familiarity with Government Furnished Property (GFP) and Government Furnished Information (GFI) management

Pay: $130,000.00 - $165,000.00 per year
