Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and proactive Human Resources Generalist to join our team. This position provides support for the Director, Human Resources and Employee Relations Manager, and is responsible for payroll, local administration of employee benefits, and general HR duties. Assists in the consistent enforcement of company policies and practices as well as performing recruiting and termination processes. The Human Resources Generalist manages timekeeping record input, departmental office supplies, and works on special projects as needed. Independent judgment is required to plan, prioritize, and organize a diversified workload. All duties are performed in a manner that is consistent with the goals of the company, as well as in compliance with ISO standards, where applicable.
Responsibilities
- Partners with Director, Human Resources in Performance Review processes.
- Prepares payroll related journal entries and reconciles employee benefits for approval by the Director, Human Resources.
- Processes payroll and maintains HRIS system for assigned location(s).
- Maintains recruiting records, performs phone interviews, and final interviews with managers/directors, and facilitates the hiring of qualified applicants, including acquiring background checks, for the assigned location(s).
- Performs new hire and employee benefit orientations, for the assigned location(s).
- Administers employee benefits and assists with annual open enrollments, for the assigned location(s).
- Processes terminations, for the assigned location(s).
- Maintains accurate PTO balances for assigned location(s). In addition, maintains Hep B records and HIPPA files, HR related training documents, and disciplinary files, for the assigned location(s).
- Communicates with managers and employees regarding employee issues and HR policies ensuring consistent implementation, requesting approval of Director and/or the Manager of Employee Relations, as needed.
- Administers the company’s Safety Glasses and Safety Footwear benefits.
- Partners with other HR team members, across locations, to organize and draft a quarterly employee newsletter representing all NTB-A locations.
- Partners with other HR team members, across locations to organize company events, setting up vendors when needed, purchasing items as needed, creating notices regarding events. Keeps employees informed on upcoming events to increase employee morale.
Requirements
- Proven experience in human resources management or as a Human Resources Generalist with a strong understanding of human capital management principles.
- Bachelor’s degree, in a relative field and five to seven years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Basic Accounting skills required. Previous experience with ADP is highly preferred. PHR Certification preferred. Experience with CA payroll and/or employment law is helpful.
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages accurately and efficiently. Ability to apply the fundamentals of accounting.
- Demonstrated ability in talent acquisition sourcing strategies.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage employee relations effectively.
- Proficient computer skills, knowledge of commonly used software programs for word processing, Power Point, above average skills with Excel, and the ability to maintain complete, clear, concise records.
- Ability to apply solid logic and good judgement to solve problems based on experience, past precedence, and current research as needed.
- Ability to handle confidential information discreetly while maintaining accuracy in data collection and contracts administration.

Pay: $65,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
