About the Position

DaRam Engineers is seeking an experienced Structural Engineer who is ready to take a leadership role in an established consulting engineering firm.

This is not an entry-level position and it is not a position for someone still working toward licensure. We are looking for an engineer who can independently manage projects, make sound engineering decisions, work directly with clients, and mentor younger engineers.

About DaRam Engineers

DaRam Engineers has provided structural and civil engineering services throughout Texas for more than twenty years. Our work includes commercial, industrial, municipal, and residential projects.

We intentionally maintain a smaller-firm environment where experienced engineers have direct client contact, real responsibility, and the opportunity to influence projects from beginning to end.

We believe good engineering comes from sound judgment, practical experience, and strong client relationships—not unnecessary bureaucracy.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

• Independently manage structural engineering projects from proposal through construction.
• Design steel, reinforced concrete, masonry, and wood structures.
• Prepare structural calculations and construction documents.
• Coordinate with architects, owners, contractors, municipalities, and other consultants.
• Review work prepared by engineers and designers.
• Conduct site observations and field investigations as required.
• Manage project schedules, budgets, and client communication.
• Seal engineering documents under an active Texas PE license.
• Help mentor and develop younger engineers joining our firm.

Required Qualifications

Applicants must meet the following minimum qualifications:

• Active Texas Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Approximately 10 years or more of structural engineering experience.
• Ability to independently manage structural engineering projects.
• Strong knowledge of:
• International Building Code (IBC)
• ASCE 7
• AISC Steel Manual
• ACI 318
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work directly with clients and represent the firm professionally.

Applicants who do not currently hold an active Texas PE license will not be considered.

Preferred Experience

Experience in one or more of the following is desirable:

• Commercial buildings
• Industrial facilities
• Municipal projects
• Residential structural design
• Foundation design
• Existing building evaluations
• Structural renovations
• AutoCAD
• Revit
• Familiarity with structural engineering analysis and design software

Experience with specific software packages is less important than sound engineering judgment and the ability to independently design and manage structural projects.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary: $140,000–$160,000 depending on experience, technical ability, and leadership.
