Our Conservatory program (9th–12th grade) offers graded fine arts courses that challenge high school students to develop professional-level skills while growing in faith and character.
Position Summary
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Film & Media Arts Instructor to join our Conservatory faculty on a contract basis for the 2026–2027 school year. This role is responsible for teaching four courses—History of Cinema, Intro to Media, and Editing I on Tuesdays, and Film Club on Wednesdays. The ideal candidate will bring professional media experience, a heart for mentoring young artists, and a commitment to honoring God through storytelling and the visual arts.
Courses TaughtEditing I | Tuesdays 2:05–3:00 PM | Graded Conservatory Course
This graded course introduces high school students to the fundamentals of video editing, including non-linear editing workflows, timeline management, pacing, transitions, color correction, and audio mixing. Students will work with industry-standard editing software to complete hands-on projects ranging from short narratives to documentary-style pieces.
Intro to Media | Tuesdays 1:05–2:00 PM | Graded Conservatory Course
This graded survey course explores the landscape of modern media, including film, photography, digital content creation, and visual storytelling. Students will examine media from a Biblical worldview, learning to think critically about the messages they consume and create. Coursework includes both analytical and creative projects.
Film Club | Wednesdays 3:40–5:10 PM
Film Club provides a collaborative, production-oriented environment where students develop original short films from concept to completion. The instructor will guide students through pre-production planning, cinematography, directing, and post-production, culminating in screenings for the Artios community. A production fee applies.
