Position Summary:
The Business Solutions Representative (BSR) serves as a frontline liaison between the Job Center and the local business community. Under the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA), the BSR promotes workforce development services to employers, assists with recruitment and hiring needs, and supports the development of work-based learning opportunities such as On-the-Job Training (OJT), internships, and incumbent worker training. This role is vital in ensuring employers have access to skilled job seekers while supporting WIOA performance and service goals.
Responsibilities:
Employer Engagement & Relationship Management:
- Conduct outreach to Cuyahoga County employers to promote WIOA-funded services and programs.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with business leaders across various industries.
- Provide customized workforce solutions to meet employers’ hiring, training, and retention needs.
Work-Based Learning & Program Development:
- Identify opportunities for On-the-Job Training (OJT), and Incumbent Worker Training programs.
- Work closely with Talent Developers and Pathway Specialists to align training and placement services with employer requirements.
- Assist employers with understanding eligibility requirements, documentation, and compliance with WIOA guidelines.
Recruitment & Hiring Support:
- Coordinate job fairs, hiring events, and employer-specific recruitment sessions.
- Screen candidates based on employer job descriptions and refer qualified applicants.
- Provide labor market insights, wage data, and occupational trends to support employer planning.
- Conduct intake assessments to determine WIOA eligibility, career interests, skills, and barriers.
Collaboration & Partnerships:
- Participate in industry-sector initiatives, chambers of commerce events, and business roundtables.
- Perform all other duties as assigned by ULA senior management, or Executive Director.
Data Management & Reporting:
- Document employer interactions and activities in agency case management systems, PCRecruiter, and ARIES.
- Track outcomes related to job placements, employer services, and training programs.
- Assist with performance reports and ensure compliance with WIOA business solutions metrics.
· Ensure strict confidentiality and compliance with data protection by securely handling and maintaining Personally Identifiable Information (PII) in accordance with organizational policies and industry standards
Qualifications:
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, or related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
- At least 2 years of experience in workforce development, business outreach, human resources, or economic development.
- Knowledge of WIOA programs, especially OJT, IWT, and Customized Training
- Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, ATS, and case management systems.
- Valid driver’s license and insurance, and reliable transportation for employer site visits.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with industry-sector partnerships or business retention programs.
Working Conditions:
- Office setting with frequent travel to local businesses, employer sites, and community events.
- Standard business hours with occasional evening or weekend engagements.
Pay: $48,000.00 - $52,000.00 per year
