This position provides Human Resource Generalist duties for agency's within the HR Services department.
Why does the job exist?
This position provides comprehensive advanced Human Resource (HR) services for small state agencies that utilize the State Personnel Office Human Resource Services as their primary HR.
How does it get done?
This position serves as an HR Generalist for multiple, small HR Service agencies and performs the following duties:
- Recruitment including processing hires.
- Processing payroll and benefit actions;
- Employee relation consultation;
- Process leave and accommodation requests;
- Ensure compliance with state and federal policy and regulations;
- Provides HR guidance to agencies in relation to all agency needs.

Minimum Qualification
Bachelor's Degree in any field and one (1) year of experience in human resource operations; recruitment, selection, payroll, compensation and benefits administration, labor relations, investigations, HR-related training experience, and/or occupational analysis. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling five (5) years may substitute for the required education and experience.
Employment Requirements
Must possess and maintain a valid New Mexico Driver's License. Must possess and maintain a current Defensive Driving Course Certificate from the State of New Mexico or must pass and receive Defensive Driving Course Certification within six (6) months of date of hire as a condition of continued employment
Working Conditions
Work is usually performed in an office setting, with extensive exposure to Visual Video Display Terminal (VDT), personal computer, tablet, printer, calculator, hole-punch, cellphone, copy machine, scanner, keyboard, and telephone usage. Some travel may be required.
