Eleven Recruiting is hiring an experienced Quality Engineer on behalf of one of our largest aerospace clients. In this role, you'll lead all Quality Assurance activities across a chemical plating company — ensuring compliance with industry standards, reducing Cost of Poor Quality, and driving measurable, data-driven continuous improvement across the organization. You'll work cross-functionally with internal teams, suppliers, and customers to resolve quality issues, optimize inspection processes, and strengthen overall QMS performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement quality processes that reduce defect rates and ensure compliance with customer flow-down requirements and regulatory standards
• Lead rejection reviews and non-conformance investigations, driving timely resolution with internal teams, suppliers, and customers to lower scrap, rework, and warranty/RMA costs
• Execute Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) using industry-standard methodologies, ensuring corrective actions prevent recurrence and deliver permanent, sustainable solutions
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives through Lean, Six Sigma, and data analytics — with a direct focus on reducing COPQ and improving process capability
• Maintain and improve QMS documentation, and train teams on ISO9001, AS9100, IATF 16949, and Nadcap AC7108 compliance requirements to reduce audit findings across internal, customer, and Nadcap audits
• Conduct internal audits and support external audits, tracking and reducing findings over time to strengthen overall compliance performance
• Develop and oversee inspection processes across incoming, in-process, and final inspection stages to ensure product conformity and reduce downstream defects
• Prepare and maintain standard work instructions, process control plans, and core quality tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA) to drive consistency and reduce process variation
• Analyze quality and manufacturing data trends to proactively identify improvement opportunities and optimize key performance metrics
• Manage supplier quality performance, including supplier surveys and Approved Supplier List maintenance, with a focus on improving supplier quality scores and on-time delivery
• Collaborate across functions to enhance productivity, reduce variation, and improve overall customer satisfaction through responsiveness and product quality

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, or equivalent industry experience
• 5+ years of experience as a Quality Engineer, preferably in aerospace manufacturing within an AS9100-based QMS environment
• Proven track record of driving measurable reductions in defect rates, COPQ, and audit findings
• Strong expertise in data analysis, statistical methods, and problem-solving, with the ability to use analytics proactively rather than reactively
• Demonstrated RCCA effectiveness — a history of corrective actions that stick and prevent recurrence
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents, including blueprints, schematics, and specifications
• Experience developing technical documentation and supporting QMS processes
• Familiarity with contract review processes for new product introductions and RMA workflows
• Knowledge of quality metrics and statistical tools, including SPC
• Internal audit experience with ISO9001, AS9100, and/or IATF16949
• Basic understanding of Nadcap Chemical Processing requirements
• Prior experience in plating operations is a strong plus

Pay: $105,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
