About the Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Developer Productivity Engineer to improve the tools, systems, and workflows that enable engineering teams to build, test, and deploy software faster and more reliably.
This role focuses on improving developer experience, engineering efficiency, CI/CD processes, build systems, testing infrastructure, and production workflows. You will work closely with engineering teams to remove technical bottlenecks, improve development velocity, and create scalable solutions that help engineers deliver high-quality software.
The ideal candidate is a strong software engineer with experience improving development workflows, build pipelines, and engineering productivity across large teams.
Key Responsibilities
Own and improve build, test, and deployment workflows across engineering teams.
Improve monorepo architecture, tooling, and developer workflows.
Design and implement solutions that increase engineering velocity and reliability.
Optimize CI/CD pipelines and automate repetitive development processes.
Improve testing frameworks, coverage visibility, and engineering quality metrics.
Build tools and systems that enable teams to ship software safely and efficiently.
Support multi-cloud and multi-region engineering environments.
Improve production reliability, monitoring, and operational excellence.
Collaborate with software engineers across multiple teams to identify and solve productivity challenges.
Contribute code to backend systems and developer tooling when needed.
Minimum Qualifications
7+ years of professional software engineering experience.
Strong backend engineering experience.
Experience improving developer productivity, engineering workflows, or platform tooling.
Strong programming experience with:
TypeScript
JavaScript
Go
or similar backend languages
Experience with CI/CD systems and deployment automation.
Experience working with large codebases or monorepos.
Strong understanding of software development lifecycle and engineering best practices.
Experience improving build systems, testing infrastructure, or developer tooling.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience building developer platforms or internal engineering tools.
Experience with monorepo tooling such as Turborepo, Nx, Bazel, or similar.
Experience improving DORA metrics or engineering performance indicators.
Experience with cloud infrastructure and distributed systems.
Experience supporting multi-region or multi-cloud environments.
Experience working in fast-growing startup environments.
Strong understanding of backend architecture and production systems.
