Armed School Security Officer - $25.00 per hour – Act 235 required – Bryn Mawr, PA
Cardinal Point Security Group is building a team of Security Officers who will facilitate a safe learning environment and keep students, staff, and faculty safe from violence.
Pay: $25.00 per hour
Location: Bryn Mawr, PA
Schedule:
Monday – Thursday 1:30 PM to 6:00 PM
Fridays – 11:30 AM to 4:00 PM
Schedule includes regular school hours plus occasional after-school and weekend events
This position follows the school calendar with two months off in the summer
Basic Qualifications:
Must possess a minimum of five years of armed security experience
Must possess prior experience in any of the following: Municipal Police Officer, State Trooper, Federal Police Officer, Military Police and/or Master at Arms, Military experience with a rank requiring a sidearm
Must possess a valid PA Act 235 Certification
Must possess a valid PA Concealed Carry Permit
Must possess your own firearm that meets requirements and a Level 3 holster
Must be able to pass firearms qualification course.
Able to work well under pressure.
High School Diploma or GED.
Consent to a drug screen and completing criminal background investigation.
Consent to obtain required clearances for working in school.
No felony or misdemeanor convictions involving moral turpitude.
Reliable means of communication (active cell phone with mobile email access)
Ability to comprehend and utilize the English Language (verbal and written)
Reliable means of transportation
Must possess a professional and courteous demeanor.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Be a Cardinal Point Ambassador: Be on time. Look sharp in proper uniform. Be engaged. Be consistent
Walks up to 10,000 steps per day to patrol school facilities and grounds to prevent access to restricted areas, theft, or vandalism
Coach and mentor students
Incident Management and verbal de-escalation
Maintains orderly flow of foot traffic in the hallways
Monitors restrooms throughout the day
Reports on maintenance concerns to appropriate personnel
Act as First responder for emergencies
Stands post at secondary locations as required
Identify and report suspicious activity
Cultivate positive relationships with staff and students
Access Control
Monitor CCTV
