We are seeking a motivated Lab Pack Chemist to support hazardous waste management and environmental service projects throughout Northern New Jersey and New York City.

This is a hands-on, field-based position responsible for identifying, classifying, packaging, and preparing hazardous and non-hazardous materials for transportation and disposal. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, mechanically inclined, and interested in building a long-term career within the environmental services industry while gaining valuable experience supporting industrial, laboratory, pharmaceutical, commercial, and institutional clients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Identify, classify, package, and label hazardous and non-hazardous waste materials for proper transportation and disposal.

• Perform lab packing activities in compliance with RCRA, DOT, OSHA, EPA, and client-specific safety requirements.

• Complete chemical inventories, waste characterization, and compatibility assessments.

• Prepare manifests, shipping documents, waste profiles, and other regulatory paperwork.

• Safely load, unload, and handle drums, containers, and hazardous materials using proper material handling procedures.

• Work as part of a field team of 2–5 environmental professionals to complete projects safely and efficiently.

• Maintain accurate project documentation and ensure compliance with all applicable environmental regulations.

• Travel daily to industrial, laboratory, pharmaceutical, commercial, and institutional client sites throughout Northern New Jersey and New York City.

• Follow all company safety procedures and participate in site-specific safety programs.

Requirements:

• 1+ years of experience in hazardous waste management, lab packing, chemistry, environmental services, or a related field preferred.

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Environmental Science, Biology, or a related scientific discipline preferred but not required.

• Knowledge of chemical compatibility, hazardous waste classification, and proper waste handling procedures.

• OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER certification required.

• DOT Hazardous Materials (HAZMAT) and RCRA Hazardous Waste training required.

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in industrial, outdoor, and physically demanding environments.

• Strong attention to detail, communication skills, and ability to work effectively within a team environment.

Schedule & Compensation:

• Monday–Friday schedule with consistent overtime opportunities.

• 5:00 AM–5:00 PM or 6:00 AM–6:00 PM schedule (approximately 60 hours/week)

• $20.00–$22.00/hour
