About Us

LongWings Education is a growing K-12 education center located in Great Neck, New York. We provide academic enrichment, STEM programs, AP courses, SAT/ACT preparation, programming, robotics, debate, and college readiness services.

As more of our students enter high school, we are expanding our College Admissions Counseling team to help students navigate the college application process and achieve their higher education goals.

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced College Admissions Counselor to work with high school students (Grades 9–12) and their families throughout the college planning and application process.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys mentoring students and has a strong understanding of U.S. college admissions.

Our education center already has an established student base, so counselors can focus on advising students rather than finding clients.

Responsibilities

• Guide students through the college admissions process
• Build personalized college application strategies
• Assist students with college lists and application timelines
• Review and edit personal statements and supplemental essays
• Advise students on extracurricular activities and summer opportunities
• Help students prepare resumes and activity lists
• Support applications through the Common App, Coalition Application, and university portals
• Communicate regularly with students and parents
• Monitor deadlines and ensure application materials are submitted on time

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred
• Experience in college admissions counseling or educational consulting
• Strong knowledge of U.S. college admissions
• Excellent writing and editing skills
• Strong communication and organizational abilities
• Experience working with high school students
• Familiarity with Common App and major university application systems
• Bilingual English and Mandarin is a plus, but not required

Preferred Experience

Candidates with one or more of the following backgrounds are encouraged to apply:

• Former college admissions officer
• High school college counselor
• Independent educational consultant
• College essay coach
• Experience helping students apply to highly selective universities

Compensation
