The Commercial Construction Designer/Estimator will support the Commercial team by providing 2D and 3D renderings to assist in the visualization and articulation of proposals, permit applications, client meetings, and other external purposes. This position will play a key role in bringing vision to life and providing essential documentation and detail.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Interpret and develop 2D, 3D and rendering designs from notes, sketches, and directions from the Project Executive.
- Collaborate with the Project Executive, client, architects, engineers, and project managers for feedback and to provide timely design revisions.
- Attend field visits to assist in design discussions and document existing conditions and project presentations to clarify design and rendering components.
- Analyze blueprints, plans and specifications to determine construction feasibility, design parameters, and cost impact.
- Provide estimating support for the Senior Estimator and Facility Maintenance sales team.
- Complete material takeoffs and accurate product counts based on plans and scope of work.
- Distribute plans and construction documents as needed during the design build and bidding process.
- Organize and maintain all project documentation.
- Assist as needed across assigned projects in Luxury Living, Roofing Production, and the Service teams.
Required Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:
- High competency with drafting/rendering technology, such as AutoCAD, Revit, and Bluebeam.
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills critical to accurate design and cost calculations.
- Familiar with overall construction process, work timelines, and cost associations.
- Knowledgeable in construction, township codes, and regulations.
- Ability to interpret subcontractor quotes based on plans and specifications.
- Adept at active listening, critically evaluating ideas and providing constructive feedback when collaborating with the Project Executive, clients, architects, townships, vendors, and the project team.
- Knowledge of OSHA compliance and safety is a plus.

Education and/or Professional Experience:
Minimum of an Associate Degree in Engineering CAD Technology, Drafting, or similar; or equivalent professional experience required. A minimum of 5 years in a construction related field is preferred.
Physical Demands
In this role, the employee will frequently sit or stand, use a computer with a mouse and keyboard, view and focus on screens and blueprints, occasionally traverse uneven surfaces, climb stairs, stoop, reach, and carry or lift up to 50lbs.
Work Environment
This position will primarily work in a climate-controlled office, with occasional visits to indoor and outdoor construction sites in all types of weather.
Pay: $70,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
