The Opportunity: A full-time Applications Engineer is sought to join our Applications Development Group with responsibility for product development. This group provides customer-directed support for the development of enzyme-based diagnostic biosensors using ABTECH's multi-element array platform that is based on bioelectronic detection.

This Individual: You should have a minimum of a masters degree and three years recent experience or a Ph.D. degree that emphasizes research on the development and testing of enzyme-based biosensors. Your should be experienced with bioimmobilization protocols, polymer surface modification strategies, electrochemical and electroanalytical techniques, bioassay techniques and enzyme kinetics. Of particular interest is peptide engineering, enzyme engineering and molecular mechanics modeling. Suitable degrees may be in Chemical Engineering, Bioengineering, Biomolecular Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or Molecular Engineering (Biochemical Engineering).

• Excellent written and oral communication skills are mandatory. Excellent interpersonal skills are necessary. The ability to work independently, with minimum supervision, to respond to exacting reporting and documentation requirements, and to interface well with corporate clients is required.
