About the Role
Seeking a UX Designer, Researcher & Content Specialist to design accessible, intuitive, person-centered digital experiences for a long-term care services program. This is a hands-on role spanning user research, UX/UI design, accessibility, and content. You will help people find, access, and plan for long-term care, with a strong focus on inclusion for older adults, caregivers, and users with limited English proficiency.
This position would be for an initial term aligned to a multi-year government engagement, with the possibility of extension. The position is 100% remote (U.S.-based) with the potential for occasional trips to stakeholder or client sites.
Responsibilities
- Conduct stakeholder interviews and user/beneficiary research, including English as a Second Language (ESL)/Limited English Proficiency (LEP) participants.
- Develop personas and user journey maps for key flows such as enrollment, benefit access, and provider search.
- Design wireframes and interactive prototypes for websites and mobile applications.
- Apply behavioral UX patterns and inclusive authentication options that reduce barriers to access.
- Test designs and live software against Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.2 and deliver prioritized remediation guidance.
- Write plain-language content and apply readability standards, including large, legible primary text.
- Develop ESL-friendly and multilingual content approaches consistent with language-access requirements.
- Plan and conduct moderated and unmoderated usability testing and report findings.
- Maintain design, research, and AI-tool documentation, including prompts, sources, and citations.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in UX design, human-centered design, customer experience, or digital experience work
- Successful completion of at least two (2) major projects within the last five (5) years involving user experience, customer experience, digital transformation, or customer journey analysis in the health care, long-term care, health and human services, social services, insurance, or related regulated service sector.
- Demonstrated experience across UX design, user research, and content.
- A portfolio showing journey mapping, wireframing, prototyping, and usability testing.
- Working knowledge of WCAG 2.2 and accessible, inclusive design practices.
- Strong written communication and plain-language content skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in government, healthcare, insurance, or other highly regulated industries.
- Familiarity with long-term care or long-term services and supports (LTSS).
- Experience with multilingual/ESL content or language-access requirements.
- Exposure to AI-informed design, conversational/agentic flows, or AI-tool documentation.

Pay: $104,139.30 - $180,000.00 per year
