POSITION MAIN CHALLENGES

• · To develop, structure, implement, maintain and improve health, safety and environment processes and policies, proposing solutions and alternatives to minimize and/or eliminate risk and/or emergency situations.
• · Analyze services and/or projects of new operations, deploy corporate guidelines and define the requirements for a safe operation, focusing on the prevention of accidents/incidents.
• · Support management to ensure compliance with all corporate program expectations and applicable federal and state laws.
• · Define, construct and implement work methods to minimize risks. provide job assessments related to job hazard analysis and new equipment introductions.
• · Provide specialized training to employees on safe work practices, proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and emergency procedures.
• · Define and recommend appropriate risk mitigation measures to management.
• · Conduct safety audits regularly.
• · Investigate accidents and incidents to determine their cause and implement corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
• · Maintain and manage detailed injury and incident reports and records by investigations, documentation of accidents and submitting compensation claims to insurance carriers. Partnering with HR to maintain compliant records, files, and regulatory reporting documentation.
• · Perform all duties in compliance with applicable OSHA, EPA, company and safety policies and federal, state, and local regulations
• · Communicate safety- related issues to management and recommend necessary changes.
• · Ensure the availability and proper maintenance of safety equipment.
• · Ensure compliance with Title V air quality permits and permitting process for major sources of emissions and air pollutants.
• · Perform additional Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) responsibilities as assigned, including supporting compliance and initiatives, safety training, inspections, corrective actions.

REQUIREMENTS

Experience:

• · 3–5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• · Experience in automotive, heavy-duty, or heavy equipment component manufacturing preferred.
• · Proven experience with quality system implementation or significant involvement in ISO 9001 environments.

Education:

• · Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.

Specific knowledge:

• · Strong understanding of quality management systems and ISO 9001 requirements.
• · Knowledge of quality planning and control tools such as FMEA, PPAP, APQP, SPC, MSA, and Control Plans.
• · Experience with Title V requirements.
• · Understanding of supplier quality management and incoming inspection processes.
• · Familiarity with traceability systems and documentation control.

Techinical skills:

• Hands-on understanding of machining, welding, and assembly processes.
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems and quality-related software.
• Ability to analyze data, prepare reports, and present kpi metrics.

Soft skills:

• · Ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence without direct authority.
• · Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• · High level of organization, discipline, and attention to detail.

Certifications:

• · Emergency response, fire safety, First Aid, preferred.
• · ISO 14001, 45001 preferred.
• · OSHA 30 hour, HAZWOPER 40 hours preferred.
• · Six Sigma Green Belt or equivalent preferred.
