Job Description: Managing Director, Clinical Registry Solutions
Position Overview
The Managing Director provides executive leadership and strategic direction to maximize growth, operational excellence, and profitability. This role oversees a remote, multi-specialty clinical data abstraction workforce, ensuring world-class data quality, near-perfect Inter-Rater Reliability (IRR), and seamless EMR integration for hospital networks and healthcare systems. The President serves as the primary external face of the organization, driving new hospital client acquisition and managing senior relationships with key national clinical registries.

Compensation: $135,000 to $175,000/year on plan with base and bonus
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Business Development
- Formulate corporate vision: Define long-term growth roadmaps to scale multi-specialty registry services across regional and national healthcare markets.
- Drive market expansion: Lead sales, marketing, and business development initiatives to secure long-term abstraction and auditing contracts with hospitals, health systems, and research institutions.
- Manage registry partnerships: Cultivate high-level relationships with major clinical registries and national databases (e.g., ACC-NCDR, STS, MBSAQIP).
- Oversee financial health: Direct the annual budget, pricing structures, and financial forecasting to ensure sustainable margins and operational profitability.
Operational Excellence & Quality Management
- Scale remote workforces: Oversee a highly specialized, remote team of certified clinical abstractors, quality auditors, and registry account managers.
- Maintain accuracy thresholds: Ensure the abstraction delivery team consistently hits and sustains strict accuracy metrics (e.g., maintaining a validated 98.3%+ IRR).
- Enhance technological capabilities: Partner with product and IT leaders to continuously optimize remote infrastructure, secure workflow management systems, and electronic medical record (EMR) integrations.
- Deliver consultative value: Expand advisory capabilities, including mock surveys, gap analysis reviews, and accreditation preparation services for client health systems.
Compliance, Privacy & Risk Management
- Enforce data security: Maintain absolute corporate alignment with HIPAA, PHIPA, and other federal or territorial data privacy frameworks.
- Lead audit readiness: Establish robust data protection policies and serve as the ultimate accountable executive during third-party regulatory security audits.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Education: RN designation and/or Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration (MHA), Business Administration (MBA), or Health Information Management (HIM).
- Executive Track Record: Minimum of 3 years of progressive leadership experience in a healthcare vendor, clinical research organization (CRO), or a specialized health information management (HIM) company.
- Domain Expertise: Deep, firsthand knowledge of the clinical data abstraction industry, national registry metrics, and healthcare hospital dynamics.
- Technical & Compliance Literacy: Expert-level familiarity with major hospital EMR systems (Epic, Oracle Health/Cerner, Meditech) and healthcare privacy regularities.
- Industry/Registry Credentials: Highly valued for this position.
Pay: $135,000.00 - $175,000.00 per year
