About the Role: As a Quality Assurance Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality, performance, and reliability of applications across the technology landscape. You’ll support testing strategies and execution, translating business and technical requirements into thorough validation processes. This role ensures delivery is aligned, dependable, and supports efficient, compliant, and scalable operations.

What You’ll Do:
- Quality Assurance Execution: Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts aligned with business requirements.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with Product Owners and stakeholders to understand requirements and acceptance criteria.
- Defect Management: Identify, document, and track defects through resolution.
- Testing Support: Perform functional, regression, and user acceptance testing to ensure system quality.
- Release & Adoption: Support UAT, release readiness, and validation of production deployments.
- Risk & Compliance: Ensure testing incorporates regulatory, risk, and control requirements.
- Continuous Improvement: Use testing results, feedback, and metrics to enhance quality processes and system performance.
What You Bring:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Experience: 2+ years of quality assurance or software testing experience.
Technical Strengths & Skills:
- Strong understanding of software testing methodologies and QA processes.
- Experience with manual testing and familiarity with automated testing tools.
- Ability to interpret business requirements and translate them into test scenarios.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborate across cross-functional teams.
- Familiarity with risk, audit, and compliance practices in financial services.

Candidates must reside in Missouri to be considered for this position.
Preferred office location is Jefferson City, MO. All other Missouri FCS Financial Branch Locations will be considered.
This position is classified as Exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act.
Hybrid work environment and flexible work schedule will be considered based on the candidate’s qualifications and business needs.

Job Functions*
Test Plans
- Work with Development teams to understand and document system functionality.
- Develop and maintain reusable regression test plans for systems that can be used during release validation, or any other time system validation is required.
- Identify, document, and set up test cases and test data to support regression testing.
- Participate in project and release planning to develop specific test plans as well as updating existing regression test plans and cases.
- Adhere to project timelines and expectations.
Manual Testing
- Plan, create, and execute test cases in collaboration with business partners, developers, and other stakeholders.
- Document and analyze test results and recommend corrective action.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to validate that functionality meets requirements.
- Collaborate with Dev teams to understand, document, and resolve issues.
Automated Testing
- Work with business partners and developers to understand core system functionality and identify opportunities for automated test cases.
- Implement automated test scripts that exercise test cases for core system functionality.
- Work with Dev and DevOps teams to implement automated tests into our regular processes and pipelines.
Coordination of Testing Activities
- Coordinate and track manual testing activities across larger testing initiatives, such as scheduled releases and project specific User Acceptance Testing.
- Coordinate test case assignments and tracking across Information Services and Business stakeholder project teams.
- Document testing activities and outcomes.
Technology Support
- Assist Information Services teams in project planning, documentation, and execution.
- Assist Information Services teams in responding to and resolving escalated issues
- Other duties as assigned to meet the needs of the organization.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer information systems or related degree
- 5 years related experience
- Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job
Required Knowledge and Skills
- Expert knowledge of relational database design, programming, security and performance
- Expert knowledge of web application design, programming, security and performance
- Expert knowledge of programming languages, including compiled, scripted and query
- Expert knowledge of software development patterns and best practices
- Expert knowledge of system integration technologies and approaches
- Working knowledge of content management systems implementation and configuration
- Working knowledge of security industry policies and best practices
- General knowledge of business practices in the financial services industry
- Skill in creating technical documentation
- Oral and written communication skills sufficient to discuss a variety of job-related topics, and to effectively communicate technical topics to a variety of audiences
- Skill in analyzing current business processes and identifying and implementing opportunities for improvement
- Responsible to appropriately protect the confidentiality, security, and integrity of the Association’s systems and data and clients’ data
