At our site in Alexandria, Minnesota, we design, manufacture, test and provide service support of LGC, Biosearch Technologies laboratory instrumentation and consumables. Products produced and distributed from this location enable scientists to make the world a safer place and enables customers in areas such as developing and identifying new plant hybrids, testing and tracking of food products for food safety, and research to support human diagnostic testing. The Alexandria site represents a centre of excellence for Biosearch Technologies in the areas of Engineering, Manufacturing, and Field Service by supplying and supporting customers and team members around the world. Our services are accredited to the ISO 9001 quality standard.

As a Production Technician, the primary role involves producing lab consumables for Oligo manufacturing. Duties encompass using light tools, setting up equipment, and maintaining cleanliness as per standards. Tasks include weighing, mixing, handling small objects, operating heating devices, and using mechanical tools. Additionally, responsibilities include quality inspection, packaging, and updating process documentation with attention to detail and proactive improvement suggestions. This role requires both independent work and collaboration within a team.

Essential Functions:

• Column Construction: Concludes the construction of various column types to meet the requirements of internal and external customers as per established processes and methodologies.
• PolyFrit Manufacturing: Crafting PolyFrits to satisfy both internal and external customer requests following established processes and methodologies.
• Conduct Quality Spot Checks: Perform all quality assessments as per the procedural guidelines and collaborate with QC team members to identify and rectify any quality issues.
• Safety: Follow all safety guidelines as required by the manufacturing process and as mandated by LGC. Adherence to company Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) policy.
• Follow work instructions and checklists for daily and weekly maintenance and cleaning tasks.
• Offer Constructive Suggestions for Process Improvement: Provide insights on process and equipment improvements as they are identified through manufacturing.
• Support Product Pre-Shipment Processes: Participate in product pick and pack processes to prepare customer orders for shipment.
• Other Duties as Assigned: Responds with flexibility and collaboration to the needs of the business by addressing important corporate initiatives when requested by management.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent experience
• 1 to 3 years of prior experience in manufacturing

Preferred Qualifications:

• 2-year technical degree
• 3 years working in consumables manufacturing

The customary salary range for this position is:

Minimum pay rate: $20.00 USD per hour

Maximum pay rate: $25.00 USD per hour

The typical hiring range is from the minimum to the midpoint, depending on the candidate’s background.

Pay is determined by several job‑related factors, including your skills, experience, education, and job-related qualifications.
