Position Overview

Do you enjoy building things, fixing things, or helping others tackle projects?

Range Lumber Co. isn't looking for someone who simply wants a retail job.

We're looking for someone who already has hands-on experience. Maybe you've worked in a hardware store, on construction sites, in building maintenance, farming, manufacturing, remodeling, or you've spent years tackling your own DIY projects. If people naturally come to you asking, "How would you fix this?" we'd love to talk.

At Range Lumber Co., customers depend on us for knowledgeable advice—not just someone to point to the right aisle. Every day you'll help contractors, homeowners, and do-it-yourselfers choose the right materials, solve problems, and successfully complete projects.

What You'll Do

• Help customers plan projects and recommend the right products
• Prepare quotes, estimates, and special orders
• Answer questions about lumber, hardware, fasteners, tools, paint, plumbing, electrical, and building materials
• Receive freight, stock merchandise, and maintain attractive displays
• Load customer purchases and occasionally operate a forklift (training provided)
• Work as part of a team to keep the store organized, clean, and customer-focused

We're Looking For Someone Who

• Enjoys working with their hands and understands how things are built or repaired
• Has experience in hardware, construction, carpentry, maintenance, remodeling, farming, manufacturing, or a related trade
• Has completed their own home improvement or DIY projects
• Can confidently use common hand and power tools
• Likes solving problems and helping customers find practical solutions
• Is dependable, friendly, and willing to continue learning

Experience in any of these areas is a plus:

• Hardware or lumberyard sales
• Building materials
• Carpentry
• Residential or commercial construction
• Property or facility maintenance
• Mechanical repair
• Plumbing
• Electrical
• Painting
