JOB SUMMARY
Reporting to the Global Engineering Manager the Mechanical Design Engineer is responsible for transforming conceptual ideas into fully developed products. This role focuses on creating innovative designs that complement and expand the existing MayTec product portfolio. The Mechanical Design Engineer will work cross‑functionally to solve complex problems, design prototypes, generate detailed drawings, evaluate product performance, and support projects through their full lifecycle.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
- Design and engineer conveyor systems (belt, roller, chain) and linear systems using MayTec aluminium profiles and components.
- Develop custom mechanical solutions for customer-specific applications in automation and material handling.
- Create technical drawings, BOMs, and documentation in CAD systems (SolidWorks, MayCAD).
- Support global engineering teams with technical expertise on conveyor technology and linear systems.
- Collaborate with manufacturing, sales, and customers to ensure solutions meet requirements and quality standards.
- Perform calculations, simulations, and testing for structural integrity, motion, and performance.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of our modular system portfolio.
- Partners with Supply Chain Management to develop strategies and policies that promote excellence in supplier quality and strengthen upstream process capability.
- Foster collaborative leadership by partnering with Engineering, Quality Control, and Supply Chain to resolve issues and improve outcomes.
- Hold teams accountable while maintaining professional respect and trust.
- Drive a sense of operational urgency to accelerate issue resolution and improvement efforts.
- Identifies and manages quality instruments along with the calibration program for these items like gauges and metrology tools.
- All other duties assigned.
SPECIFICATIONS and QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
- Good knowledge of linear motion systems, including actuators, slides, conveyors, and motion‑control components is required for the role.
- Greater than 4 years of experience in mechanical engineering, with strong focus on conveyor technology and linear systems.
- Comprehensive knowledge of manufacturing processes and application related to extruded aluminum profiles and/or machining.
- Proficient in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks) and engineering calculations.
- Excellent communication, leadership, organized, self-directed and results-oriented.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and design for assembly.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in an international team.
- Willingness to travel occasionally for customer projects or internal coordination.
- Ability to quickly adjust to shifts in priorities.
- Demonstrated exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Long periods of setting, standing, walking and occasionally lifting (up to 40 lbs. unassisted).
- Ability to perform bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, and twisting tasks.
- Valid driver’s license.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
