Job Title: Verification Engineer
Hourly/Salary Compensation Range: $25-40/hr.+, depending on experience
Contract Length: 6 months, with high likelihood of extension at Client's discretion
Location: Madison, WI (100% on-site required for laboratory and tissue testing).
Hours: Full-time
Start Date: As soon as possible, ideally by late July, to be trained before the heavy testing cycle begins in August.
Job Description:
The role involves executing end-to-end verification and validation (V&V) testing during a critical design phase for the Client's microwave ablation system and its associated accessories, such as new probes. The primary focus is alleviating testing bottlenecks for a cycle running from August through November or December.
- Protocol Execution: Reading and executing standard lab methodologies and custom protocols for hardware and the system's touch interface.
- Tissue Testing: Performing bench testing using animal tissue (specifically cow livers); candidates must be comfortable with the presence of blood and the smell of cooked liver in the lab.
- Technical Writing: Contributing to V&V test reports, indicating abnormalities or failures, and assisting with user manual updates related to product changes.
- Quality Management: Participating in a transition from manual, redlined Word documents to a new Quality Management (QM) tool.
Skill Set Requirements:
- Technical Writing: Strong skills in writing and updating technical text and protocols.
- Protocol Execution: Ability to follow straightforward software and hardware testing steps (e.g., "press these buttons and verify this happens").
- Attention to Detail: Critical for recording accurate results and identifying abnormalities.
- Communication: Excellent communication skills are required for an individual contributor role within the R&D team.
Nice to Haves:
- Traceability Experience: Experience looking at requirements and writing protocols based on them.
- PLM/QMS Tools: Previous experience with PLM or Quality Management systems is helpful, though the team will provide training on their new specific tool.
- Industry Background: Experience in other Madison-based medical device or life science companies
Education/Certification(s)/License(s):
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related scientific field is required.

Pay: $28.00 - $40.00 per hour
