Job Description

We are seeking highly qualified, professional Remote Online Elementary (3rd-5th grade) Reading and Math Tutors residing in TX, FL, AZ, MS, AL, NC, SC, KY, MO, IA, SD, ND, MN, or MI for the upcoming school year.

You will deliver high-impact reading instruction (using Science of Reading strategies) or math instruction (using our established curriculum framework) while maintaining full control over your specific pedagogical methods and teaching style.

Hours

• Schedule Requirements: You must be available weekdays between 4:30 PM and 7:30 PM CST (adjust for your time zone) starting late September or October.
• Actual Working Hours: You will most likely receive 3-6 hours of active tutoring work per week, scheduled within this 3-hour time frame. However, If you are hired and participate in this program, you will also be open to other tutoring opportunities.

Mandatory Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must meet all of the following criteria, along with the Location and Availability requirements listed at the top of the post:

• Education: Must hold a Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited US college or university.
• Experience Length: Must have at least 3 years of paid teaching or paid tutoring experience.
• Subject Expertise: Proven professional experience teaching or tutoring elementary reading or math.
• Background Check: If hired, you will be required to get fingerprinted and clear a background check.

Preferred Qualifications

While not strictly required, top preference will be given to candidates who possess at least one of the following:

• Bilingual proficiency (English and Spanish).
• Active TESOL, TEFL, or CELTA certification.
• Direct experience teaching or tutoring English Language Learners (ELL).

Technical Setup Requirements

Because this is a fully remote 1099 independent contractor position, you must provide your own independent business tools, including:

• A reliable laptop or desktop computer with a functioning webcam and microphone.
• Access to a touchscreen or writing tablet (e.g., iPad, Surface, touchscreen computer).
• A high-speed, stable internet connection capable of seamless video streaming.
• A United States-based cell number. App-generated (Google, WhatsApp, etc.) phone numbers and United States-Territory phone numbers are not supported.
• A quiet, distraction-free workspace.
