The Investment Banking/Capital Markets AVP will be a Bethesda, MD-based position working directly with the firm’s partners and senior investment banking team. They will be responsible for business development and overseeing and maintaining new business relationships for all offerings within a defined geographic territory.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Typical duties include, but are not limited to:

• Develop and maintain new client relationships
• Prospect for new clients primarily by telephone sales calls to Fortune 1000 companies, banks and insurers within assigned geographic territory
• Introduce all offerings to prospective investors
• Participate in meetings at client locations (estimated travel is approximately 10%).
• Keep management informed by submitting activity and results reports, such as daily call reports, weekly work plans, and monthly and annual territory analyses.
• Attend relevant industry conferences to understand current trends and substance within the industry, as well as to network with prospects, clients, and consultants.
• Assist in the development and preparation of presentations and marketing materials for investors such as pitch books, executive summaries, investor reports, etc.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• Strong academic background with a bachelor’s degree required in a relevant field of study preferred (business, finance, real estate, or accounting).
• 1-3 years of experience in the financial services sales industry.
• A proven track record of raising capital or relevant sales.
• Excellent presentation skills with the demonstrated confidence and competence to articulate the Company’s and client’s philosophies, processes, and products; as well as a wide range of technical information, as required by investors and consultants.
• A personal track record of operating effectively as part of a new business development team; understanding how a team effort can add value to the long-term growth of the business.
• Highly driven and self-motivated – striking a balance between working collaboratively across the organization, with a great deal of autonomy in the assigned territory.
• An ownership mindset that extends to every facet of the business – accepting accountability for personal actions, decisions, and specific performance.
• A willingness to communicate transparently across the organization, both verbal and written, in a clear and insightful manner.
• Exceptional relationship skills with a proven ability to establish rapport with a wide range of individuals, internally and externally.
