The Employment Services Coordinator / Job Coach has a key role in the provision of quality services to the customers of 43 North Iowa. He/she facilitates the person centered planning process to assist individuals, their families and teams to develop plans and supports to ensure that clients have jobs and opportunities that they love in the community. Additionally they coordinate the delivery of services with funders, residential supports and families to ensure employment success.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate employment and career-related opportunities in the community to determine interests, skills and desires of job seekers.
- Assist clients, their families and teams in setting career goals and strategies that result in greater independence in employment and life.
-Provide training and consultation to community businesses as needed to enable them to support the supported employee.
- Work closely with clients and families, coworkers, funding sources and other community service agencies to provide comprehensive services to meet the needs of individuals being served.
- Implement solutions for transportation, accommodations, and performance issues as needed.
- Identify opportunities for career growth with the employer and supported employee. Facilitate further training and coaching to assist both parties.
- Maintain up-to-date case records and other documentation to demonstrate outcomes and progress on behalf of clients. Disseminate information to team members.
- Conduct the majority of work in the community, utilizing a private vehicle when agency vehicles are not available.
- Monitor progress of individuals in the program and make necessary adjustments to ensure success
- Provide mentoring and counseling to individuals to address any barriers or challenges they may face in the workplace
- Educate employers on the benefits of hiring individuals with disabilities and promote inclusive hiring practices
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Services or related field is required.
- Ability to relate to and effectively communicate a diverse set of solutions.
- Ability to express ideas clearly and concisely, orally and in writing.
-Must be computer literate with proficient skills in the use of email, Word and Excel
-Familiarity with working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, or other barriers to employment
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with diverse populations
-Must possess a valid Iowa State Driver's License and maintain a favorable driving record according to the Department of Motor Vehicles.
- Must possess private auto liability insurance and submit written verification of the same
- Must have the ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
