Toxic management

Pros

Health insurance was paid for completely by the company.

Cons

Few opportunities for growth. Pay is incredibly low for the industry and their budget. Upper management is a bona fide psycho who should never be in a position of power, especially not at the top of a company.

Pros

Sick/vacation leave and other good benefits, a lot of the regular coworkers are nice enough. Flexible start time and a work-from-home day is offered and equipment is provided.

Cons

Little to no collaboration leads to a stuffy and off-putting environment. No room for growth. Management will not communicate with you and then blame you for problems that occur. Upper management is stuck in their ways and makes every move as difficult as possible, micromanaging and nit-picking everything. There is no real HR.

Fine for a Short Time

Pros

Nice place to get some entry-level publishing experience. Co-workers are great. Good health insurance and retirement match.

Cons

Office has an unhealthy work environment. Low pay and minimal raise once a year. Very little work from home flexibility, even though work can be done from home. Don't stay longer than a couple of years.
