      Pros

      Some very smart and committed people work there, and work very hard.

      Cons

      The most "untransparent" organization with which I have ever been affiliated. Extremely political. It's a CYA environment. Some managers frequently throw their subordinates under the bus, with no apparent consequences. Not much of a meritocracy for Disaster Services volunteers. It's more about putting in your time.
