Pros

1.)This is a reputable firm and a great name to have on your resume. 2.)The firm is large so there are a lot of resources available to help you get your job done. 3.) Despite the many bad apples, there is a large number of very nice people who help make the job tolerable. 4.) Onsite gym, cafeteria, and child care center

Cons

You will be "managed" by people who have no idea of what you do on the job. Therefore these "managers" will constantly call you or email you to help with other projects because they are completely unaware of your workload. You will be handling most of the work in your team because the legal secretaries are overpaid tenured workers who do a bunch of nothing all day because they can. No one questions them and they can get away with murder, so you will be forced to pick up their slack. You will not have half of the luxuries of the secretaries even though when they hired you they claimed you were equals.

Pros

A great law firm, the attorneys are great and the people here are all nice and friendly. Space is beautiful and there are some perks to working here if you are a PERM employee though.

Cons

The management here that is in charge of the support staff is a bit lacking. You can tell that many people here are not as happy as they should be due to management. They definitely do not care about you, and they are VERY good at never answering a question. Good at dodging and dancing around what they are trying to get across.

Pros

There are no Pros...Everyone is unhappy, paranoid. Unable to trust anyone...

Cons

Don’t even think about working here. This place is a nightmare. Power struggles, politics, blame shifting, whispers, rumors, paranoia and uncertainty are more than enough to tell yourself that you are holding on only because you need the job. Secretaries/LRAs feel helpless at the hands of lower management who take pleasure in making you cower. Secretaries no longer work with a set of assigned attorneys rather they are now required to work for the entire floor and/or, except for the favored ones, act as secretarial floaters on other floors. You will be disrespected, scolded, lied to. You will always be wrong and expected to agree that you were wrong even if you can show that you were not brought into the loop.
