Pros

Direct supervisor is amazing, caring and understanding. Cares about your well-being an professional growth. Coworkers in the office are generally pleasant and there is a family feeling amongst the group. There is a flexible work schedule with the option to work at home. People bring their dogs in regularly which boosts morale (temporarily). Always extremely busy and a good backlog of work. 401k match and higher than average PTO.

Cons

Contrary to the company's "life/heart/mastery/trust" motto, the company views everybody as replaceable. They are quick to lay people off to boost their profit margins while the technical staff suffers. If you're not part of the "good ol' boys club" don't expect to get anywhere. Bullying amongst peers is ignored and goes unpunished. HR is nonexistent. There are no consequences for misbehavior or violating company policies. Overall it is an uncomfortable place to work in everyday. Blatant favoritism and advancement is not based on qualifications. Complaints to upper management fall on deaf ears. Upper management is only concerned with growth, acquisition, and public image. They are in complete denial of the reasoning behind the high turnover rate that this office in particular is experiencing.

Pros

The project managers and the tech staff are great people

Cons

Terrible local upper management with no idea how to run a successful business ("Ask the client what they're willing to pay" - Division Manager or "they're my buddy, we're giving them a deal" - Senior PM). Lots of empty promises during interview. The only thing I thought I could learn from this place were bad habits. No professional growth and/or development opportunities @ the PM level Management had no idea how to communicate or appropriately address a concern. Poor safety rating and no concern for safety of employees and subs ("I don't know why I need to wear a hard hat at a tank excavation site" - Senior PM). I watched another employee taking a training on mute, playing phone games, and he said, "the answers are online, why should I listen?" I was told one employee said, "Women slow down the work and shouldn't be out here". No diversity and few females. Pay is generally low, but of more concern, pay is inconsistent across job titles/positions. Year end raises do not exist. In May 2022, the potential of raises was TBD based on what corporate gives the local office... aka not gonna happen. Performance reviews were provided for only select staff and reviews were required prior to receiving a raise. So, manager did not complete a performance review when the staff requested, then the staff is ineligible for a raise (which probably wouldn't happen anyway) WFH is frowned upon The area manager's typical in office schedule is to show up at 10:45, play cards for about 1.5 hours at lunch, and leave at 3:45.... sets a really terrible stage for the remainder of the employees
