Pros

Great people, great work, great transparency

Cons

Can be hectic at times, but sometimes that is actually a pro. You'll always have work to do at BMS

Pros

- Great working environment - Wonderful and competitive compensations - Very flexible working hours - Smart coworkers that are willing to help others succeed. - Accessible working location (Midtown, Manhattan) - FUN. (Happy hours, company trips, office parties...) - Non-stressful, meaningful work - Very nice, fun and talkative CEOs and managers

Cons

- VERY selective interview process, may have missed out on some potentially great candidates. But this is also a pro, since everyone that works there are not only smart, but also fits the culture of the company - Must be willing to learn to succeed

Thanks for the wonderful and humbling review. I am glad you are not too stressed, since I think most people are, as business is booming! We are doing what we can to hire as fast as we can, but we are not willing to lower the standards that have made us successful to date. That said, I think it isn't too grueling a process and we do our best to identify potential, which most hiring managers find more important than current skills. HINT: Be as transparent about everything as you can possibly be. Be self aware and honest about what you know and what you don't know. Many unsuccessful candidates are not asking enough questions to figure stuff out during the interview and are not being transparent. If someone asks you a question like, what is your biggest weakness and your answer is something like, "I work too hard" or "I care too much", you are definitely not going to be hired. For good reason. You are either way better than anyone at this company and you should strive for better, or we simply can't trust you to speak what is really on your mind.

Pros

Black Mountain Systems is a fantastic place to work. The work can be challenging, but you will be surrounded by incredibly intelligent people who are around and happy to help. While it's no longer a tiny company, the startup culture is still very much intact. BMS puts a lot of thought an on every person they hire to keep the collaborative and positive culture alive. Also overall great from a work/life balance perspective.

Cons

Sometimes workloads can be highly variable, but it's not unusual for the industry.
