Pros
It was interesting seeing the factory machines. Some companies within the group had great people that were enjoyable to work with. R.A Jones was not one of them.
Cons
There were some very toxic people who made the environment difficult to work in. Some of them left, but it didn't improve the uncomfortable, unfriendly environment in NKY. Ultimately the shared services group was required to go back to working in the office despite successfully working for over a year remotely. None of my team members were in that location, so I would go into an office, do 100% of my meetings over Zoom, then have to lose 1.5-2 hours/day in traffic. The days were long and lonely. There were individuals that policed the office, literally doing rounds to make sure attendance was being followed. It seemed half their time went to roaming the hallways, spying, gossiping loudly, etc. After a few weeks of doing that, interacting with next to no one in that building, and feeling like my attendance was being monitored like a day care, my request to work remotely even 2-3 days/ week was denied. I found a new job that allowed for remote work and left.
