Pros
After working at my previous employer, Crescent Energy is a breath of fresh air. IT has strong, competent leadership that demands action, integrity, and accountability. No head games, power plays, or politics. People actually focus on our common goals, cooperate, and work as a team - even inter-departmentally. It feels like I left clown world and finally entered the land of sanity.
Pay is OK. Flexibility and work life balance is OK. Benefits are good. Free breakfast and lunch in the cafeteria as well as plenty of food options downtown.
I was told there were no layoffs during the pandemic - I wasn't working here then. That did make an impression on me. No job is 100% secure, but Crescent seems like a stable company that already runs intentionally lean, so there's not a lot of fat to cut.
Cons
Really the only cons for me are the fact that it's downtown. Also the office. Not the people in it - the building itself. It's a very "modern" open office design that seems to have been planned with aesthetics prioritized over functionality. The bright artificial lighting sometimes hurts my eyes and sound travels - a lot. It's easy to get distracted by coworkers on calls next to me and the kitchen staff talking and playing music upstairs - but that's what headphones are for.
