Pros

The best reason to work for Daystar is the ability to work alongside amazing Christian people who strive for excellence in order to do the work God has called them to do. It's also a great location that allows employees to live in a variety of nearby suburbs and offers lots of options for eating & shopping near work.

Cons

This organization has a major case of the Emperor's New Clothes. No one will tell our leaders that they are pridefully strutting around naked. It began as a mom & pop tv station, and now, despite the fact that we are a worldwide television network, it is still run like a mom & pop. Decisions are based on the whims of their children. and the mistaken belief that viewers all over the world care more about seeing their family on tv than in the actual content we provide. There is little to no hope of advancement for anyone who is not related.

Pros

It is nice to have people who will pray for you when you need it.

Cons

There are all kinds of beliefs in theology so yours won't always match what is preached on the channel. This is an international ministry but run as a mom and pop business. There is no moving up unless you know someone in the family of the founders. Nepotism is the foundation of this ministry. Working in ministry is not what everyone thinks it is. This is not a bubble where we all sing kumbaya. Believe me i have had run-ins from time to time with some coworkers just like anywhere else. I guess the difference is that there is no bad language and we are forgiving of one another. Just know that you won't be in a bubble with angels all around. We are all human.

Pros

The work was not that hard to do, once you were able to get a decision made and managers to sign off on it. There are a few good people that know what they are doing.

Cons

Not very flexible on hours or time off, even for holidays. Most managers have never been in their positions before and only have their positions because they are either family or friends of the family that own the place. That said, they have no clue as to what they are doing which makes everyones job hard. Management won't listen to opinions or ideas about most things either. Extremely political and power struggles are common in every aspect of a daily work day.
