Pros

amazing benefits, great company, collaborative team environment, extremely smart colleagues. Always encouraged to look for advacement, though it can be a challenge to achieve, it's all about networking here. Once you are in you are in, hard to get laid off or fired, Nike really invests in their employees

Cons

Definitely a boys club, very much if you know so and so you can advance (sometimes), somewhat of a cult like environment, can feel a bit too much like college. Nonetheless, none of these cons would ever preclude me from working here. The biggest Con is the location: Portland OR. That's the main and really only reason I left. Would love to come back at another location.

Pros

Amazing campus, good pay, exclusive access to elite athletes

Cons

Distributed ownership means teams have very little influence and end up with departmental objectives that are mostly ineffectual fluff, yet annual review cycles increasingly tied to "impact" which the corporate inertia and politics make it nearly impossible to achieve. No real career advancement opportunities. Promotion process sets an impossibly high bar and the handful of promotions that do take place include clear cases of favoritism. Last but not least, the new CEO has sent a clear signal that he doesn't view the technology organization as integral to the future of the company. Big tech layoffs followed by surges in tech hiring in India. If you're in tech, look elsewhere.
